Congratulations Guys
Chayne Edwards and Joel Nouws became the 2023/24 State Pairs Champions at Bateau Bay on Saturday 28th October. Playing the finals, on their home turf, they had a convincing Final win against Ettalongs Darren Morrison & Nathan Malloy 28-22. Joel & Chayne picked up where they left off the previous week at Canon Beach, to complete a clean sweep for Bateau Bay, with all three pairs championship winners being Stingrays.
Peter McCarten and Gary Murphy of Bateau Bay defeated Canton beach’s Lee Watson and Eric in the Final of the Senior Pairs at Bateau Bay on Sat 28th October. After winning their section, the previous week at Ettalong, the pair went on to finish the job with a tight 16-15 semi-final win, then a comfortable 24-10 win in the final.
John Woods and Stuart Thompson of Bateau Bay BC became the 2023/24 Open Reserve Pairs Champions on Saturday 28th October. After winning their section at Gosford the previous week, John & Stuart went on to play the semi-final and final on home turf, where they proved to be too strong for The Entrance’s Shane Reeves and Stephen Potter. 22-13 was the final score.

Bateau Bay’s Peter McCarten & Chayne Edwards have claimed the 2021 BCC Open Pairs title!
McCarten and Edwards won their semi final against Ettalong’s Shane White and Shane Starkey then defeating Davistown’s Luke Rash and Sean Love in a thrill seeking final! The score ended up 21-10 in favour of Chayne but the score doesn’t reflect the ability throughout the game!
Congrats Peter and Chayne and we wish you all the best in the State Finals later this year held at Ettalong!

| Bateau Bay’s Jamie and Warren Power were all smiles in taking out the Central Coast section of the Bowls NSW Rookie Pairs |
After playing each other in the Rookie Singles final a week earlier,
Jamie and Warren Power from Bateau Bay BC teamed together to contest the
Central Coast section of Bowls NSW Rookie Pairs played on their home
turf at Bateau Bay.
Their consistency in drawing to the jack was a feature in winning their
way through the sectional rounds and with a crushing win in the
semi-final they became the tournament favorites over the Umina Beach
duo of Jeff Kennedy and Trevor Foulkes who had played steady bowls to
gain a berth in the final.
After seven ends it was four all and it was shaping up to go down to the
wire, but the Power boys moved up a gear and their consistency once
again proved a match winner to take out the final 12-6.
It was a top performance with Warren taking out the coveted double of the Rookie Singles and Pairs.
Both Warren and Jamie will now progress to the Bowls NSW State Finals to
be played at Raymond Terrace BC over the weekend of 10th & 11th
November in their quest to go all the way and win a State title.
